Due to the fact that Cyprus is an earthquake zone we do get a lot of ground movement, this of course can and does play havoc with the underground drainage system, causing blockages and drain collapses. Cyprus is at present undergoing infrastructure changes to the drainage system, this change may take many years. So at the present time no paper can be put into the drainage system, this is one of the main causes of drain blockages in Cyprus.
